Where has all the prevenitive maintanace work gone?

As I review our contracts that were completed in 2011, I noticed the infrared scanning, switchgear cleaning, and breaker testing orders were down 75%. I feel like this will create some big emergency repair jobs in the coming months and years.

Every once in a while it’s refreshing to see a business that knows it’s niche. When a business makes a conscious decision to say we do this but we don’t do that. We’re used to seeing the “hey we do windows” companies. Today we do this and tomorrow we do that. Then every once in a while you stumble upon a pro. They’re a pro because they’re focused. They know themselves and know what they can promise and deliver upon.

When you’re looking for a company to handle your commercial and industrial electrical contracting needs- find an electrical contractor that specializes. Don’t get a company that specializes in residential work but just dabbles in commercial and industrial projects. You don’t want a company that primarily handles service calls to handle your commercial buildout or your industrial shutdown.
