Our recent Better Business Bureau Rating

You think you’re finished with school and grades and then your business starts getting graded. Below is a quick excerpt from our most recent report. Meiners Electric received an A + Rating and received zero complaints the past 12 months.

Your Better Business Bureau is focused on connecting customers to trustworthy BBB Accredited Businesses. We’re pleased to report we’re making connections for your business. Congratulations on zero complaints over the past 12 months and your excellent BBB Rating!  (Candidly, zero complaints takes both good work and good luck.  In some cases, it is impossible for even the best business to “please all the people all the time.”)

Back to work on another good grade for next year.

Do all electrical contracting jobs go to the lowest bidder?

Does everyone shop on price? In a down economy, does every decision maker, every head of household, every savvy shopper buy the cheapest alternative? We don’t think so. After all you still see luxury cars driving around town. We still see people eating out at high priced restaurants. We still notice people paying to be entertained. People haven’t given up there favorite premium coffee just yet. People pay a premium for a good experience or a good story better yet.

So how does this apply to commercial and industrial electrical contracting services? Well it applies because you can only get so cheap before you’re losing money or hoping into the future. It doesn’t matter what electrical business you represent. When you bid someone can always be lower. Is that always what the customer is seeking though? Is electrical contracting such a commodity that the price is the only matter to consider?

If it is, we’re all in trouble because anything can be outsourced and cheaper labor can only get so cheap. You can’t out cheap Walmart or Amazon.com as Seth Godin often says. And you can’t get cheaper than free. So where does that leave us. Well we believe some smart companies won’t award contracts solely on price. We believe the wise ones will look at other factors like safety, quality, service and maybe even a good story. So you were tracking along until the last one. A good story. Yes we hope that smart facilities managers, maintenance and operations managers, purchasing agents, safety directors and business owners will pay a premium for a good story.

When you do business with Meiners Electric you’ll get our best price. You’ll get quality service with a focus on safety. Most of all though you’ll get the experience of doing business with a company that is “one big family”. That’s worth something over cheap, isn’t it?

Electrical Contracting Services around Louisville KY

We thought we’d do a summary of everything we’ve had going on over the last few months here at Meiners Electric. First off to keep everyone who’s tuned in up to date, and secondly to showcase some of the different services we provide. We’ve tackled some major projects this winter like the work at Bowling Green Medical Center, the Trimble County Eon plant and the renovation of the Louisville Free Public Library. It was severely damaged by floods this past fall. We’re also upgrading controls at Buffalo Trace in Frankfort KY.

We’re doing some of our routine shut down work for LG&E, our normal infrared scanning and fiber splice work at Humana and maintenance check ups for each new Walgreens.

No commercial or electrical job is too small. This winter included relighting Calvary Episcopal Chapel and the first floor renovation at Builders Exchange. We also installed the lighting controls for all Chase Bank branches and performed a switch-gear scan at Nazareth Homes.

When searching for an electrical contractor in Louisville KY, we want you to know the large array of commercial and industrial services we provide. We work for some of the biggest brands in Greater Louisville but also for some of the smallest mom and pops too.

We hired a new safety director

At Meiners Electric, we take safety serious.

Recently, we’ve taken the step to bring someone onboard to oversee our safety program. We’d like to introduce you to Kirk Berglund, who will be handling our in house and jobsite safety initiatives.

Since coming on board, Kirk has updated our safety program and vigorously inspected our jobs to assure a safe work environment.

We look forward to doing some creative things to promote safety at Meiners Electric. Look for more posts from Kirk himself on topics like safety in the workplace and on the jobsite. He’ll also be moving some of our safety program online.
